About Me

Candra: I am a wife, a mother, a teacher, a student. I enjoy photography...mostly photographing my photogenic kids, of course, but also landscapes, flowers, animals, cityscapes, anything that catches my eye. I prefer Pepsi over Coke and sweet tea over anything carbonated, and feel it is of far greater importance to park near the cart return rather than the door of the supermarket. In my opinion, there is nothing more fun than an evening of board games with good friends! I love to travel, and hope to someday visit all the continents. I need books like I need air and almost always have a book in progress (or two) lying around the house. I'd love to have a published novel someday, but that dream is on the back burner of life. So for now I will "settle" on a blog to capture my thoughts and spark some creativity.

Earl

This is my tree-hugging, creative, loving husband Earl. We have been together for almost two decades now and I can't imagine life without him. He loves all things outdoors and starts planning the garden long before the snow melts.

Anna

Anastasia

This is Anna, our uberly sensitive firstborn. She is 14 going on twenty. She is the best teenager ever, but has yet to completely master sarcasm and eye rolling. Anna loves her cell phone, her horse Amigo, her friends, and her sisters.....usually in that order. She plays clarinet in the school band and loves being a marching band geek!

Libby

Elizabeth

Libby is our wildly independent second child. We affectionately referred to her as our "terror tot", and she lived up to the nickname! She turned ten this March and is turning into quite the opinionated and humorous little miss. She loves her baby sister most of all and plans on becoming a masseuse someday!

Eva Kate

Evangelina

Eva Kate is our third daughter. She is our rainbow baby, arriving after the storm of losing her two older brothers. She is full of sass and sarcasm, sugar and spice. She can simultaneously be the sweetest thing you've ever seen and also make you want to scream.

Cora

Coraline

Cora is our pot of gold, our caboose. She is pure sweetness and completes our family in the best way.

Gabriel, Alexander, and Benjamin

Our boys were here for only a few months each, but their existence, and their absence, is felt every day.

Ella

Cinderella

Ella is our spitfire of a cat. Too busy to cuddle much, she spends her time romping around the house, oftentimes defying logic as her tiny padded feet sound like a heard of stampeding bison. Anna fell in love with her at first sight, she couldn't resist the black smudge on her nose, for which she is named. She has a passion for practicing her stalking on unsuspecting toys, and we love to watch her crazy antics!

Indy

Indiana

Indy is our lazy, lovable male cat. While he could never be accused of being the brightest bulb in the house, he's such a sweetheart. A lover, not a fighter. His favorite place to be is snuggled next to a warm body. He used to be the runt of the litter, but has since turned into a giant obese food-obsessed ball of lovable fluff.
